…a two and a half day interactive workshop that examines crucial personal issues and attitudes faced by women in contemporary society. Participants will engage in a series of conversations, activities and presentations aimed at shedding light on the impact increasingly unrealistic and unattainable beauty standards have on our everyday lives.
The workshop will provide participants with the tools they need to let go of negative self-perceptions that can get in the way of feeling beautiful, powerful and joyful in life. Women will learn to recognize their own unique beauty and to love who they see in the mirror.
Women complete the Being Beautiful experience with a new sense of power, confidence and self-acceptance that results in increased energy, resilience, passion and joy. The changes made during the Being Beautiful workshop are largely internal. However, for many, the results are noticeable on the outside as well. Participants will notice a difference in every area of their lives – from the boardroom to the bedroom!
Did you know?
Only 2% of women perceive themselves as beautiful.
80% of women are dissatisfied with their appearance.
More than 38% of normal weight women consider themselves overweight.
1 of every 20 women struggles with a eating disorder.
For many women, life can seem like a never-ending beauty pageant. Throughout our lives, our appearance is judged by those around us. Our looks are compared to those of our peers, women in the media, or unattainable ideals promoted by the beauty industry. Our value as women seems to be determined more by our appearance than by the other attributes and qualifications we possess. In order to get ahead in life, one must be considered beautiful – but not too beautiful. No one has ever asked us if we want to compete in this pageant. Being born female automatically makes us contestants, whether we like it or not. Our harshest judges are often our selves.
